FroggierPosted by Kathe (Marquette, Michigan, United States) on 7 February 2009 in Animal & Insect. Michi is looking more and more frog-like. I've finally finished their new habitat, and Michi and Ren are both doing quite well now. Unfortunately, I found Yasu, the second largest of the three, dead the morning I finally received the rest of the supplies for the paludarium. I have no idea what happened. In fact, it has been little Ren we've been most concerned about. She (at least, we THINK it's a she) somehow poked, and eventually lost, her right eye. But, as I've said, she and Michi are both doing very well. Ren is still far behind Michi in development - she still only has long-ish stubs for legs. It's hard to tell in this shot, but Michi also has the beginnings of front legs. I wish I could have gotten a better picture of them both. Just ignore the black silicone - that stuff was extremely messy to work with when I was using it to set up the paludarium! The tadpoles like to hide beneath the raised "island" I've created, so I was lucky to catch Michi out in the light. For anyone interested in seeing more of the habitat, there are more photos on my Paludarium Set on Flickr.
