Lily Pad

The lily pads are starting to pop up - red at first, then they'll turn green - in one of Park Cemetery's ponds. This is the same pond that has a large population of northern green frogs (like our Michi and Ren). I can't wait to photograph the frogs in their natural habitat, and - of course - the water lilies (white and occasionally pink).

The bigger pond (near this one) has a different type of water lily - yellow ones that don't seem to fully open - and is home to most of the turtles and ducks I photograph (and some geese too). There are some frogs there as well, but not as many as the smaller pond. The third pond doesn't have water lilies, but does have a large area of cattails. That pond has clearer water and is populated mostly by the geese.
