Accidental Shooting

Posted by
Kathe (Marquette, Michigan, United States) on 17 April 2009 in Animal & Insect.

I was trying to photograph this song sparrow singing his little heart out. But just as I snapped the shot, he took off.

Maybe it was a lucky accident. This seems better that a static shot would have been. Very nice.

@B. Thomas: Thanks, Barbara. I agree. :^)

I agree, lucky you, that he took off when you clicked. Beautiful wingspread, a shot that is hard to achieve. A nice glimpse of the sparrow's gray primary feathers too. Like the texture and earth tones.

@jane | wildgulch.com: True - there's no way I'd manage a shot like this intentionally. :^)

Lee from Fort Frances Ontario, Canada

A splendid shot Kathe. Most of the shots like this are accidental. To plan for it and time it is virtually impossible. Excellent capture. Thank you for sharing

...hm.... this is one of the most romantic images I've ever seen... I have no idea why I feel that way about it ???
an image with a story ???...

@Roman: Romantic? I'm not sure why either. The colors, maybe?

Thanks for the comments, Roman. :^)
